The Daily Star - Four suspects confess to elderly man's murder - February 19, 2011

BEIRUT: Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of an 87-year old man in Brital, Baalbek, which led to Thursday’s arrest of the “most-wanted man” in Lebanon. The Lebanese Army issued a statement Friday saying that the four, whose names were not released, confessed to investigators after they were arrested at the weekend that they killed Abbas Saleh at his residence in Bekaa town of Brital earlier this month. The killing is believed to have sparked intensive efforts to capture Abbas Tleis, who was wanted on more than 350 outstanding warrants. The ISF Gendarmerie commander Antoine Shakkour visited the Bekaa Friday to congratulate Brigadier General Charles Atta and his personnel on Tleis’ arrest. –The Daily Star
