The Daily Star - Gemayel slams Siddiq's charges against Pakradouni - February 19, 2011

BEIRUT: Former President Amin Gemayel defended Thursday a former president of the Kataeb (Phalange) Party from accusations of involvement in the assassination of his son, Pierre. Gemayel, who now leads the party, said accusations made by Mohammad Zuheir Siddiq, a former witness in the international probe into the 2005 killing of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, against Karim Pakradouni were “totally unacceptable.” Siddiq said Thursday Pakradouni had relayed the young Gemayel’s movements to the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, and was thus involved in the 2006 killing in Jdeideh, Metn. Gemayel said Siddiq’s comments constituted a “direct insult” to the dignity of both the party and Pakradouni. –The Daily Star
