Lebanon news - NOW Lebanon -Soueid: Our cabinet participation depends on Mikati’s STL, non-state weapons positions

March 14 General Secretariat coordinator Fares Soueid told As-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper in an interview published Monday that the March 14 coalition’s participation in the upcoming cabinet depends on Lebanon’s commitment to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and the elimination of non-state weapons.
“Our team has placed conditions on Prime Minister-designate [Najib Mikati] so it can take part in the cabinet. Most importantly, to maintain [Lebanon’s] commitment to the STL and to eliminate illegitimate weapons in the country,” said Soueid.
However, “the other team has conditions that the tribunal be cancelled and [Lebanon] be committed to illegitimate arms,” he said referring to Hezbollah’s weapons.
