Now Lebanon - ISF officer meets with inmates in Jib Jannine prison - April 5, 2011

NOWLebanon’s correspondent reported on Tuesday that Bekaa Internal Security Forces officer Charles Atta met with prisoners in Jib Jannine’s prison to listen to their demands.
Atta met with the prisoners after they started a fire in the prison’s rear courtyard, the correspondent added.
The riot in Jib Jannine prison came after protests broke out in Roumieh Prison on Monday for the second time in 48 hours. Inmates at Roumieh– which is one of the biggest prisons in the Middle East and holds 4,500 inmates despite being built to hold only 1,500 – had been demanding amnesty and better conditions.
