The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - NOW Lebanon’s correspondent: Roumieh inmates’ families block Brital roads - April 3, 2011

NOW Lebanon’s correspondent on Sunday reported that the families of some Roumieh Prison inmates in the Bekaa town of Brital blocked roads to protest the condition of their relatives in the prison.
The Lebanese Armed Forces clashed with the families when trying to reopen the road, the correspondent added.
The security forces are still working to resolve the situation, he also reported.
A riot broke out in Roumieh Prison on Saturday when prisoners began protesting cell searches.
