The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

NNA - Rifi meets committee to address issue of Lebanese detainees in Syria, April 9, 2014

Minister of Justice Ashraf Rifi met on Tuesday with the committee to address the issue of Lebanese detainees in Syria who briefed the minister on their work and the steps that they had made before the beginning of the war in Syria which forced them to stop their work.



Rifi demanded the committee to resume their work after the compulsory stop, to deal with the said file and to give it the necessary attention.



Attendees also discussed means to open channels of communication with the Syrian side and agreed that the committee would successively inform the minister on the future developments of its work.
