The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

ISF contains Roumieh prison protests, frees officers

BEIRUT: Internal Security Forces (ISF) put an end to the protest launched by Roumieh prisoners and rescued three security members, an ISF statement said Monday. The ISF’s efforts were being supervised by ISF commander General Ashraf Rifi and Interior Minister Ziyad Baroud and the forces were able at 2:30 am on Monday to put an end to the protest launched inside the Roumieh prison. No material damage and no physical harm were noted and the forces also succeeded in freeing three ISF members being held hostage by the prisoners. – The Daily Star
