The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Lebanese officer indicted on Israel spy charges

A military prosecutor has requested the death penalty for an army officer accused of spying for Israel, a judicial official said on Saturday.

Ghazwan Eid Shahin is the third Lebanese army officer indicted on charges of "providing information to enemy intelligence services," according to the charge sheet.

Shahin will be tried by a military court at a date yet to be announced.
