The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Security forces arrest March 14 supporters in Zahle confrontation, May 9, 2010

A confrontation allegedly occurred Sunday afternoon in the Hawsh al-Umara area of Zahle between Edward Hatem—a candidate on Popular Bloc leader Elias Skaff’s electoral list—and youth supporters of the March 14 alliance, according to media reports in the Bekaa town.

The army immediately intervened and arrested a number of the March 14 youths, the reports added.
