The Daily Star - Man sought over killing of his daughter - February 10, 2011

BEIRUT: The Internal Security Forces have been ordered to arrest a man believed to have killed his daughter last week in the north Lebanon district of Dinniyeh, the National News Agency said Monday. Security reports emerged Monday that Nour al-Ain Shaaban Nasser had been shot and killed at her family’s residence in the town of Qmamin last week, but her death was not reported to the security forces at the time. The NNA added that Shaaban is believed to have left her parent’s house last year to marry Hassan Taan. When the couple separated after 10 months of marriage, Shaaban returned to her parent’s home, earlier this month. Shaaban, whose funeral services were held over the weekend, is believed to have been shot and killed by her 60-year-old father, according to the NNA. Shaaban’s father has fled the area and the ISF were given orders to arrest him, the report added. –The Daily Star
