Now Lebanon - Al-Liwaa: Najjar to brief cabinet on false witnesses report - September 24, 2010

An unnamed ministerial source told Al-Liwaa newspaper in an interview published on Friday that Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar will brief the cabinet on his report regarding the witnesses who gave false testimony to the international commission investigating the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri during the next government session he will attend.

The daily said that Najjar had an arm surgery and was discharged from the hospital this week, adding that the minister will resume his work in the upcoming two days.

The cabinet delegated Najjar to follow up on the issue of the STL’s false witnesses last month. However, March 8 coalition parties—including Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement—have called for the formation of a Lebanese commission to follow up on the issue of the false witnesses.
