iloubnan - Interior ministry says it complied with STL fingerprints demand - March 15, 2011

The Interior Ministry issued a statement on Tuesday saying that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) has requested from the Interior Ministry a copy of the fingerprints records kept by the Ministry in an electronic version.

The ministry called on the STL investigators to shorten their demands more than four million fingerprints exist in the ministry's database.

When the STL complied with the ministry’s demand, “we gave them a few hundred fingerprints,” the statement said.

The ministry thus denied The Daily Star report published earlier, saying the report made it seem hat the ministry did not comply with the STL.
