The Media Against Violence foundation issued a statement on Monday calling on the Syrian regime to release the two Reuters reporters who went missing on Saturday.
“The Syrian regime should immediately release the reporters,” the statement said.
It added that relevant Lebanese authorities should guarantee the return of the reporters after that they were expected to arrive in Beirut on Saturday.
Reuters reported on Sunday that two of its television journalists, producer Ayat Basma and cameraman Ezzat Baltaji, went missing in Syria on Saturday night.
More than 30 people have been confirmed killed in a spiral of violence that has gripped Syria since protests broke out on March 15, with demonstrators demanding major reforms from the Assad regime.
