The Daily Star - NGOs that care for disabled stop services, May 4 2012

BEIRUT: The Permanent Coordination Office of NGOs that care for the disabled announced Thursday that its organizations had stopped their services, citing financial difficulties.
“After we became unable to pay salaries and bills for food, transportation, diesel and essential goods that enable us to perform our duties toward the disabled, we find ourselves forced to suspend our services,” said a statement by the office.
The coalition of 56 organizations, which cares for 8,000 children, has been demanding for many months that the state increase funds allocated to the groups.
