The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - UNHCR plans month of World Refugee Day events, may 14 2012


BEIRUT: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees will hold a month full of events for World Refugee Day in June, including a refugee Olympics, UNHCR officials told The Daily Star.
This year’s events include an Iraqi refugee art exhibit and an “Olympic Day Festival” of sporting events and music, as well as a refugee film festival.
“World Refugee Day ... pays tribute to the perseverance of the over 43 million refugees and asylum-seekers worldwide,” UNHCR spokeswoman Natalie Hawwa said.
