The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Daily Star - Un Institutions To Turn Off Lights For Earth Hour

BEIRUT: All United Nations institutions will shut off their lights and electronic devices for 60 minutes on Saturday as a move highlighting action on climate change. The United Nations said that observing “Earth Hour will take place between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm, in whatever time zone. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has said “The message of Earth Hour is simple. Climate change is a concern of each of us. Solutions are within our grasp and are ready to be implemented by individuals, communities, businesses and governments around the globe.” – The Daily Star
