The Daily Star - Disappearance of Syrians investigated - March 07, 2011

BEIRUT: The Internal Security Forces is investigating the disappearance of three Syrian dissidents, a security source told The Daily Star Sunday.
The source added that caretaker Interior Minister Ziyad Baroud was keen on preserving the secrecy of investigations carried out by the ISF to prevent any misleading information from being leaked to the media.
Syrian national Jassem Merhi al-Jassem was arrested on Feb. 24 by the Lebanese Army Intelligence for distributing flyers which condemned the Syrian regime.
Upon his arrest, Jassem was transferred by the ISF to Baabda’s investigative judge who later released him.
The security source said First Lieutenant Salah al-Hajj, son of former ISF director Ali al-Hajj, is suspected of kidnapping Jassem and his two brothers, who had arrived at the Serail to pick him up following his release by Baabda’s investigative judge.
