Commenting on a report that four Syrian nationals were kidnapped by First lieutenant in the Internal Security Forces (ISF) Salah Ali al-Hajj, Lebanon First bloc MP Ahmad Fatfat said “What happened with these young Syrian men is [one] of the results of Hezbollah’s coup against the Independence Revolution.”
Hezbollah’s coup aims to change Lebanon’s face, Fatfat said in a statement issued by his press office on Saturday, adding “This time four Syrian brothers calling for democracy were the victims, but who knows who will be next if not everyone bears their responsibilities.”
Fatfat called on Interior Minister Ziad Baroud to carry out his responsibilities and launch an investigation into the act which is a clear violation of the Lebanese law.
An-Nahar reported on Friday that Hajj has kidnapped a Syrian citizen named Jassem Merii al-Jassem, and added that Jassem could have been handed over to Syrian intelligence or might be detained in the Syrian embassy.
Future News television reported later on Friday that according to a Syrian opposition figure in France, Jassem and his three brothers Chedid, Ahmad and Ali are also abducted.
The Syrian Embassy, however, denied An-Nahar newspaper’s Friday report titled “Syrian opposition accuses a Lebanese officer of kidnapping a Syrian citizen in Beirut” and said it is completely not true.
