The Daily Star - Union slams U.S. security’s ‘attack’ on photojournalist, May 3 2012

BEIRUT: The Photojournalists’ Union issued a statement Wednesday condemning “the attack” on a photographer by a U.S. Embassy security officer, the National News Agency reported.
Photographer Mohammad Azakir, who is employed by The Daily Star, was taking photographs of U.S. official Jeffery Feltman and U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman’s visit to Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt’s home in Clemenceau Tuesday when a U.S. Embassy security officer grabbed him from behind and pulled him away.
“The Photojournalists’ Union strongly condemns this shameful act and asks what right a security officer from a foreign embassy has to obstruct the work of a photojournalist?” the statement said.
