The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

January 18, 2010 - The Daily Star - ISF arrests suspected Badaro kidnappers

BEIRUT: Four people suspected of kidnapping citizens Zahi Farah and Maroun Jomhuri on Tuesday were arrested within 48 hours, said the Internal Security Forces (ISF) in a statement released Sunday. The four suspects held Farah and Jumhuri at gunpoint in Badaro in Beirut and forced them to give them money before kidnapping them. The hostages were later released for a ransom of $10,000. “The Intelligence Department was able to identify three culprits and arrest them within 48 hours,” said the statement.The judicial police also arrested another suspect in the case and found part of the ransom and weapons in his possession. Further investigations are ongoing to arrest a fifth suspect. The ISF called on all the victims of the armed gang to head to the ISF’s office in Achrafieh in order to pursue the necessary legal measures. – The Daily Star
