Naharnet - General Security Department Denies Banning French Book on Hariri Murder - January 21, 2010

Lebanese authorities banned a French book titled "La Liste Hariri" from entering Lebanon, the French daily Le Figaro revealed. However, the General Security Department issued a communiqué on Thursday denying the ban.
The book, written by French author Gérard de Villiers, included information hinting to the involvement of a top Shiite Lebanese leader in murdering the late premier Rafik Hariri in 2005.
The Lebanese General Security considered the information mentioned in the book as an accusation to Hizbullah with murdering Hariri, according to Le Figaro.
"The Surete Generale would like to clarify that it didn't ban the book and didn't take any measure to allow or reject the entry of the book," Thursday's communiqué said.
