Now Lebanon - Abu Faour follows up on infant reportedly tortured to death, June 14 2012

Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abu Faour visited Hadath’s Sainte Thérèse Hospital to follow up on the case of an infant who had allegedly died from torture.
“Abu Faour talked with doctors about the details of the death of Ghina Mahmoud Abdel Razak Hawana after being tortured and beaten up and followed up on the measures that should be taken,” Al-Jadeed television reported.
Abu Faour told the station that the infant was subject to “brutality,” and said that it was “obvious that she was subject to torture as her body [bones] were broken, her skull was shattered and part of her head’s skin was torn.”
Asked about whether the baby was strangled or not, he said: “There is no confirmation she was strangled. She was brought to another hospital three weeks ago with broken ribs. It was said, back then, that someone accidently sat on her.”
