March 21, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Fatfat accuses some parties of trying to discredit STL

In an interview published Sunday in Kuwaiti Al-Anbaa newspaper, Lebanon First bloc MP Ahmad Fatfat said that some parties are trying to discredit the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) because they fear its investigation into the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

He also said the recent criticisms against President Michel Sleiman and the Internal Security Forces (ISF) affect the state and are attempts to control the ISF.

This comes after Tawhid Movement leader Wiam Wahhab called earlier in the week for President Michel Sleiman to resign, and several March 8 coalition figures condemned the ISF due to its 2007 agreement with the US for training and equipment.
