Now Lebanon - Sleiman source speaks about tackling “false witnesses” issue - November 1, 2010

An unnamed source close to President Michel Sleiman said on Monday that there is a possibility of forming a ministerial commission to tackle the issue of “false witnesses”.
The source told Al-Manar television that if the cabinet does not agree on the proposal to form the commission, the issue will be postponed to subsequent ministerial meetings.
The “false witnesses” issue tops the agenda of the cabinet session set for this Wednesday.
March 8 politicians have called for the cabinet to task the Justice Council with investigating the issue of witnesses who gave unreliable testimonies to the international probe into former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri’s 2005 assassination.
However, March 14 figures have said that the regular judiciary should handle the issue.
