The Daily Star - New UNRWA team to assist return to Nahr al-Bared - November 16, 2010

BEIRUT: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) announced Monday the formation of a team tasked with helping displaced Nahr al-Bared refugees return back to the camp. UNRWA issued a statement in which it said a team was formed as part of a new plan to help displaced Palestinian refugees from the north Lebanon camp return to their homes. The camp was destroyed in 2007 after deadly clashes between the Lebanese Army and the militant group Fatah al-Islam, and its ongoing reconstruction has faced many hurdles since. The team will be formed of several experts tasked with guaranteeing the return of a first group of refugees. “The team is currently following up on related issues such as safety, electricity, water, etc,” the statement said. –The Daily Star
