The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Education minister calls for updated schools map - November 16, 2010

BEIRUT: Education Minister Hassan Mneimneh called for basing school locations on a new educational map. Mneimneh spoke during a meeting Monday to discuss the new map, which included results of school surveys, and information about the increase in population and the varying number of students. The participants appointed survey experts to examine the results and Mneimneh called for taking the map into consideration when choosing the locations of new schools. Mneimneh then warned school directors and teachers of any incorrect information included in the surveys. “Any violation or cover-up will be sanctioned. The sanctions might even lead to dismissal, he said. –The Daily Star
