The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

April 1, 2010 - ILoubnan - NLP calls on stopping campaign against STL (French below)

BEIRUT – The National Liberal Party (NLP) ensured on Thursday “those who are keen on purifying Lebanese-Syrian relations” that it was impossible to build deep and solid relations among the countries but through truth, transparency and mutual respect for their independence, sovereignty and common interests.

As for the campaign targeting the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, the NLP said, in a statement, it totally trusted the tribunal, its work and justice. It called on all parties to stop attacking the tribunal.


BEYROUTH – Le Parti National Libéral (PNL) a assuré jeudi à « ceux qui tiennent à purifier les relations entre le Liban et la Syrie » qu’il est impossible d’établir des relations profondes et solides entre les pays qu’au moyen de la vérité, la transparence et le respect mutuel de leur indépendance, souveraineté et leurs intérêts communs.

Evoquant la campagne « coordonnée » contre le Tribunal Spécial pour le Liban, le PNL a exprimé, dans un communiqué, la confiance absolue qu’il fait au tribunal, à son travail et à la justice. Il a appelé toutes les parties à arrêter de viser le tribunal.
