April 1, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Kouchner: Hezbollah as a whole does not operate illegally

French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner told Al-Hayat newspaper in an interview published on Thursday that Hezbollah as a whole does not operate illegally, adding that the Der Spiegel article linking Hezbollah to the murder of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri was simply expressing its author’s opinion.

He said that no party should comment on the article, adding that they should let the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) investigations team do its job.

Kouchner defended the court, denying that it is politicized. He reiterated that it is not the STL’s goal to create turmoil in Lebanon.
