The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Bar Association, General Security sign MoU, March 26, 2015



A memorandum of understanding and coordination was signed by the Beirut Bar Association and General Security, a statement by the security agency said Thursday.

The agreement, signed by Bar Association head Georges Jreij and General Security chief Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim, aims to facilitate the work of lawyers at the agency’s offices, it said. During the signing ceremony, Jreij explained that the memorandum would end years of disputes between the General Security and lawyers.

Ibrahim stressed the need for coordination between legal and security institutions, adding that cooperation between the two institutions was necessary and inevitable.
