April 1, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Hout: STL’s leaked information came from source close to Hezbollah

Lebanon First bloc MP Imad al-Hout told LBCI television on Thursday that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL)’s leaked information is coming from a source close to Hezbollah, referring to Tawhid Movement leader Wiam Wahhab.

Wahhab announced last week that the STL summoned 15 Hezbollah members for interrogation.

Hout commented on Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s Wednesday interview on Al-Manar television, saying that Nasrallah wanted to downplay the summoning of his party members.

Nasrallah confirmed reports that the STL summoned Hezbollah members, however, he said they were called in as witnesses and not as suspects. The Hezbollah chief added that he refuses any accusation against the party or any of its members.

“No one is above justice, including Hezbollah,” said Hout. However, he added, “I do not think Hezbollah has any relation with the murder of former PM Hariri.”

Hout said he supports the STL, which, he added should given a fair chance.
