The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Judicial Inspection Board Gets First Female Members
Before discussing the thorny issue of the state budget, cabinet made several appointments to state institutions on Thursday, a move that brought the first women to the Judicial Inspection Board.Brig. Gen. George Qaraa was appointed Director-General of State Security and Brig. Gen. Abdel-Rahman Shhaitly came at the head of the Lebanese Army Administration Unit.Cabinet also chose seven new members for the Judicial Inspection Board. They are: Marlene al-Jurr, Malek Soaibi, Sabah Suleiman, Antoine Farhat, Hussein Chahine, Mohammed al-Masri and Hafez al-Eid.Judges al-Jurr and Suleiman became the first female members of the nine-member board.
