The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Naharnet - Guy: STL is Independent and We are Awaiting Indictment - October 18, 2010

British Ambassador to Lebanon Francis Mary Guy stressed on Monday that she has no information on the indictment in the investigation into the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.She stated during a visit to Akkar in northern Lebanon: "The Special Tribunal for Lebanon is independent and we are awaiting the indictment."She added that speculation over the indictment does not help Lebanon and the tribunal should be allowed to function independently.Guy asserted that the Lebanon's future is in the Lebanese' hands and they alone control their country's stability.
