The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - New TV responds to Sayyed - October 19, 2010









New TV issued a statement Tuesday that it did not broadcast Lebanon First bloc MP Okab Sakr’s report on the issue of “false witnesses” during its interview with former General Security chief Jamil as-Sayyed “due to the [latter’s] ego.”Sayyed released a statement earlier on Tuesday that there is no problem with New TV but with the misconduct of George Salibi. The statement added that Salibi, host of the Usbou fee sa’a show on New TV, “breached moral and professional obligations.”However, according to New TV, Salibi did his job well.
