Now Lebanon - Sleiman says STL to have negative outcomes, Al-Akhbar reports - October 19, 2010

President Michel Sleiman told Syrian President Bashar al-Assad during a recent phone call that there would be negative outcomes regardless whether the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) continues its work or is abolished, Al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Tensions are high in Lebanon after reports said that the STL will soon issue its indictment in the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. March 8 figures are calling for the abolition of the tribunal.
There are fears that should the court indict Hezbollah members, it could lead to clashes similar to those of the 2008 May Events.
