The Daily Star - MP Bahia Hariri denies politicization of STL - November 8, 2010

By Mohammed Zaatari
SIDON: Sidon MP Bahia Hariri rejected Sunday the possibility of any security chaos as well as the politicization of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) – the UN court tasked with probing the assassination of her brother, former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. “No one dares manipulate security because creating chaos is not so simple a decision. Whoever makes such a decision will not be able to control the crisis that was launched,” she said at a gathering in Sidon to commemorate the birthday of her slain brother. She sought to calm the people’s concerns, saying political leaders were working on controlling the situation and Lebanon faced no threat other than Israel. She denied that the STL was politicized, adding that “we are reasonable enough to interpret any indictment it issues. We don’t want to be unjust because we’ve already faced injustice.” –Mohammed Zaatari
