The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Iloubnan - Lebanese Court issues a verdict over Cotonou air crash - October 26, 2010


BEIRUT - A Lebanese court issued on Tuesday in absentia verdicts over the 2003 Benin Boing crash which left 140 dead, mostly Lebanese. The Court said the overload which led to the crash was due to "negligence". A Judicial source told AFP that Beirt Criminal Court sentenced, in absentia, the Libyan pilot Najib Sleiman Barouni and the Lebanese Darwich Ahmad Khazen to 20 years in jail. The verdict also denied the two accused their civil rights and froze their movables and immovables.
