As-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper reported on Wednesday that Speaker Nabih Berri did not ask French officials “to put a limit to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL)” during his official visit to the country this week.
However, the daily did not elaborate further. Berri arrived in Paris on Monday evening for an official state visit. He met with French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner on Tuesday and is expected to meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Wednesday.
