A Beirut court on Monday fined Tawhid Movement leader Wiam Wahhab 10 million LL for “distributing false news that disturbed the general peace” and directed him to pay an additional one million each to Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and Simon al-Hajj in compensation, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.
The decision came in response to a complaint filed by Geagea and Hajj after Wahhab said on New TV and Al-Manar television that the LF is conducting weapons training in the Chouf under the supervision of the Progressive Socialist Party.
