There is no problem with the New TV station but with the misconduct of George Salibi, said a statement released by former head of Lebanon’s General Security Jamil as-Sayyed’s press office.
Salibi, host of the Usbou fee sa’a show on New TV, “breached moral and professional obligations,” added the statement.
However, according to New TV, Sayyed used repugnant language against the station’s host following an interview Sunday and “almost kicked station’s camera crew out of his house.”
The statement said that Salibi “inappropriately” asked the former General Security chief two questions: one about Lebanon’s security system and the other about Sayyed’s properties.
“Sayyed put effort into answering the questions objectively and decently out of respect to New TV,” said the statement. It added that both questions were asked “a few minutes” before the interview was scheduled to end.
