Now Lebanon - Lebanese prisoners threaten to hang themselves, March 06, 2014

Detainees in Lebanon’s Al-Qobbe prison in Tripoli on Monday threatened to hang themselves if they are moved to the infamous Roumieh Prison, where inmates have held hunger strikes over poor conditions.

Following the threats made by Bilal and Wissam Mehrez and Abdallah al-Sabbagh, a state of tension prevailed in Qobbe prison, NOW’s correspondent reported.

Meanwhile, the prisoners’ relatives blocked the northern city’s Al-Baddawi road to protest their potential transfer to Roumieh.
