Now Lebanon - Cabinet to build experimental camps for Syrian refugees, September 11, 2014

Social Affairs Minister Rashid Derbas said in remarks published Thursday that the cabinet has decided to build a number of experimental refugee camps for Syrian refugees along the border in order to assess the country’s ability to build camps for all Syrian refugees.

“Another decision was taken to form committees that include representatives from the Interior Ministry, the Social Affairs Ministry, the General Security and the UNHCR to assess the status of Syrians crossing the border and define who should be considered refugee and who is not,” Derbas told An-Nahar newspaper.

Derbas also said that the committee formation issue would be further discussed with General Security chief General Abbas Ibrahim.
