The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Derbas New camp to house 35 thousand Syrian refugees, September 12, 2014



Social Affairs Minister Rashid Derbas said that a new Syrian refugee camp planned to be built in the buffer zone between Lebanon and Syria would shelter around 35 thousand refugees.



In remarks published Friday by Al-Joumhouria newspaper, Derbas said that the cabinet was also studying the possibility of building prefabricated houses for refugees inside Lebanon that would reach from Al-Aboudiyeh to Al-Masnaa.



Derbas also said that a committee was formed to study the issue, and would submit a comprehensive report next Tuesday.
