After a pregnant woman in labor was turned away from several hospitals in north Lebanon, Health Minister Wael Abu Faour has summoned the facilities' officials for questioning Monday.
A number of hospitals in the northern region of Akkar refused Saturday to admit Ola Mohammad Ali, who was pregnant with twins, while she was in labor.
Ali's family appealed to the health minister to intervene and save the mother and her twins. The woman was later admitted to Dar Al-Shifaa hospital in Zghorta, north Lebanon, on the orders of the minister.
Abu Faour said the ministry would investigate the incident, summing the hospitals' administrations for questioning Monday.
