The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - New victim in road accident on Jeita Highway - October 29, 2010

BEIRUT: A person was killed Thursday and three others were injured in car accidents on the Jeita highway and the Masnaa border crossing, the state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported. A Volkswagen Golf went out of control, hit a wall and caught fire. The car’s driver, 28-year-old Chadi Fahed, died on the spot and his body was completely burned. The car’s passenger was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of severe burns. Also Thursday, a truck driver, on his way from Syria, lost control of his vehicle at the Masnaa border crossing, crashing into a scanner unit. The truck’s contents spilled on the road and the vehicle continued to collide with another truck. Two individuals were injured in the incident and were immediately transported to hospital. Police inspected the crash scene and launched probes. –The Daily Star
