The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Naharnet - Thief Arrested in Maameltein Two Hours after Committing Crime, October 26, 2011

Security forces arrested on Wednesday a thief who robbed a grocery store in Maameltein in the Keserouan district two and a half hours after he committed the crime, reported the National News Agency.It said that at 1:00 am Wednesday, the suspect and an accomplice robbed LL 1.4 million, as well as mobile phone recharge cards, through the use of force and then escaped in a car that was parked by the store.The store owner immediately reported the crime and the description of the thieves and vehicle.The Jounieh police managed to find the suspect as he was driving the car in the area and with a weapon in his possession.Investigations are underway with him to determine the whereabouts of his accomplice.
