The Daily Star - Bahia Hariri visits Sader’s family to express concern over his fate, December 27th 2011

MAGHDOUCHE, Lebanon: Sidon MP Bahia Hariri said both Joseph Sader and Lebanon were “held hostage,” hoping that the whereabouts of the kidnapped man would be revealed during 2012.
Hariri visited the family of the kidnapped Lebanese man Monday, in a show of solidarity with his family and to express her concern over his fate on the occasion of the end of year holidays.
Hariri extended holiday wishes to the family of Sader, a father of three, in the village of Maghdouche in the Sidon qada, and voiced her concern over Sader’s fate nearly three years after he was abducted.
Sader, an IT manager at Middle East Airlines, was kidnapped by three assailants on Feb. 12, 2009, as he walked to work at Rafik Hariri International Airport.
Following the visit, Hariri said she had hoped that the truth behind Sader’s disappearance would have been revealed before the end of the year.
“We don’t want to lose hope ... we will keep demanding for the truth to be revealed,” Hariri said.
Salma Abboud, Sader’s wife, said there were no new developments in the case and that officials have offered no new information.
“We are still where we were three years ago. There have been investigations and rumors, but nothing tangible,” Abboud said.
According to Abboud, Sader’s brothers have a meeting Monday with Interior Minister Marwan Charbel to discuss the case. On Oct. 31, Charbel briefed a parliamentary committee on the latest findings of the inquiry into the kidnapping of Sader and said that the car the kidnappers had used had been a Chevrolet which headed toward Hadith, an area east of Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Hariri also visited Zahrani MP Michel Moussa who gave a statement on Sader’s case. “Unfortunately, there are no new leads in this case and the mystery surrounding it adds to the tragedy of the incident,” he said.
He called on the government and its security forces to increase efforts to reveal the truth behind the kidnapping.
