The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

NowLebanon - Army arrests 18 armed men in Tripoli, August 27 2012


The Lebanese army said on Sunday it arrested 18 armed men in Tripoli after one of its units came under gunfire in the area of Zahriyeh.
It added that army units also raided warehouses in the area and confiscated weapons.
The National News Agency also said on Sunday that army units confiscated weapons from warehouses in the area of Qobba, also in the northern coastal city.
This week, at least 15 people have been killed in fighting between pro- and anti-Syrian factions in Lebanon’s second largest city, Tripoli.
