iloubnan - Houri: Mikati is in a predicament because of Hezbollah's pressure on him - June 29, 2011

MP Ammar Houri told “Orient” Radio on Wednesday that "Prime Minister Najib Mikati is in a predicament because of the pressure exerted on him by Hezbollah concerning the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (TSL)."

"Mr. Mikati cannot exceed at the same time his commitment to the national and Islamic constants of Dar El-Fatwa, "Houri said. "The PM is committed implicitly and explicitly to the TSL", he added.

"Does Mr. Mikati agree to put Lebanon in confrontation with the international community? Does he accept Hezbollah’s dominance over the state?" He asked.

Concerning the ministerial statement accomplishment deadline and Nabih Berri's remarks regarding that issue, Houri stressed that " Mikati’s government is now a caretaker one until the drafting of the Ministerial Declaration. "
