The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Charbel denies Roumieh torture reports - June 29, 2011

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel on Wednesday denied reports that inmates at Roumieh Prison have been tortured.
“We will issue a detailed response to these reports,” the National News Agency quoted Charbel as saying following his meeting with Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
He added that he discussed the issue with the PM during the sit-down.
Local newspapers reported on Tuesday that some Roumieh inmates have been tortured.
