The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Naharnet - Teacher Arrested for Raping Student, April 10, 2012


A teacher in Tyre has been arrested for raping one of his students, reported Voice of Lebanon radio on Tuesday.
The teacher, a male in his mid-fifties, is accused of raping the 12-year old boy at a private school in the southern city.
Security forces detained him a few days ago and after initial investigations, a judge ordered his arrest.
The teacher has since been transferred to Tyre prison where investigations with him will continue.
